July 20, 2015 – San Francisco, California. If you have lost some teeth, you are probably considering some form of replacement. What are the options regarding dentures in the Bay area or dental implants? What are the benefits and disadvantages of each?
The short answer to that question is simply one of cost. On the one hand, it is a benefit, and on the other, it is a disadvantage.
Put simply, dentures cost less than dental implants, so that is a “pro” for the denture corner. Dental implants are more expensive, so in this case, it’s a “con”.
No Contest: Dental Implants Win
After that, it really is no contest. Dental implants beat dentures in the Bay area – or anywhere else for that matter – hands down.
It’s sad to say it, but dentures belong in the dark ages. Advances in medicine have come on in leaps and bounds, and dental implants have improved so much over the last twenty or thirty years, that they are now the way forward in the 21st century.
Dentures in the Bay area could be compared to a Model T Ford. At the forefront in its’ hey day, but a dinosaur now. You wouldn’t get very far up the freeway with one of those.
Extraneous Hardware
Who wants a lot of extraneous hardware in their mouth? You don’t if you have any sense. And with dental implants, you don’t have that. What you have is a straightforward replacement for the teeth that you are missing, and they are in some respects better than the teeth that you lost. This is because the materials used in their construction cannot rot, or lose their enamel, in the way that your natural teeth did. So, with dental implants, you have got them for life.
Dentures have an unfortunate habit of slipping and sliding about, and you may well not be able to eat all of the foods that you would like. When you have dental implants, you can eat anything. They take tough things, such as nuts, in their stride in exactly the same way that your natural teeth once did. Of course, another huge advantage is that you can smile and laugh out loud once more without fear or embarrassment. That’s a very big plus.
Fear of the Unknown (and Your Teeth): No San Francisco No!
When you have dentures, there is always that fear at the back of your mind that they could fall out when you are dining out, and indeed, it does happen. It cannot happen with dental implants.
Certainly, dental implants cost more than dentures do, but at SF Dental Implant Center we have a range of different payment options that will allow you to spread the cost over a time period that suits you and is affordable.
Dentures in the Bay area, or dental implants? Don’t settle for anything less than the best.
