If you are considering dental implants, then good for you. They are such an improvement on things such as dentures and bridges, that it makes you wonder why we ever had those in the first place. Of course, at the time, that was all that was available.

But, hey! We are in the 21st century today and technology has moved on apace. You don’t need to have any of that old stuff any more. Dental implants are, without any doubt, the way to go when you have missing teeth.

But dental implants come with a word of warning. They need to be carried out by an expert surgeon who has the experience needed to do the job properly. You have to have a hole, or holes, drilled into your jawbone into which the implant/s are set. This means that you don’t really want this kind of work carried out by a general dentist. You need a dental implant specialist.

We Use The Very Latest Technology

Certainly, there are quite a few dentists who do the occasional dental implants – perhaps a couple a week – but there are a lot of things involved with dental implants, such as ensuring that you don’t accidentally hit a nerve. This is why, as a dental implant specialist, we have invested heavily in the very latest technology such as a 3D scanner which gives us a far better picture of your jawbone than you could ever get with an X-ray.

This enables us to drill into the jawbone at the correct places and insert the dental implant. Over the course of a few weeks, the jawbone will lock itself on to the implant in a process known as osseointegration. When that is complete, we can then add the crown to the top of the implant, and – hey presto! – you have what is to all intents and purposes a tooth or teeth which might just as well be the original ones. They work in precisely the same way as the ones that you lost did.

But as we said, you do need a dental implant specialist in order to ensure that everything is perfect, not someone who does dental implants almost “on the side”. The surgery is not something that you can afford to take any risks with, because you want your implants to last.

This is another thing. There are different makes of dental implants and some of them are imported. They maybe less expensive, but we will only ever use the finest quality implants that are manufactured here in the US.
